Custom form

Collect structured information with a form inside the conversation.

Overview

A custom form asks for a defined set of customer details. Configure when it should appear, the prompt customers see, and the fields they need to complete.

Create a form

  1. Choose Custom form in the create-action catalog.
  2. Set the Action name, Description, and When to use instructions.
  3. Write the Customer prompt shown with the form.
  4. Configure field names, types, descriptions, and required values.
  5. Choose the supported channels and save the action.
  6. Review the preview, then enable and test it in a conversation.

Preview and submission

The editor preview lets you check the form experience. A preview submission does not save customer data. Verify the real submission from a customer conversation before relying on it for follow-up.

Best practices

  • Ask only for details needed for the stated purpose.
  • Use clear labels and mark required fields deliberately.
  • Test incomplete and invalid values as well as a valid submission.
  • Check that the completed information reaches the intended workflow.
