# Backstage

Ask questions about your agent and workspace in a dedicated internal conversation.

## Overview

Backstage is an internal assistant for understanding your QwryAI workspace. Open Backstage from the selected agent's sidebar and ask about usage, settings, instructions, or authoring drafts. It uses the access available to your workspace account.

> **Current capabilities**: The live Backstage experience supports read-only workspace questions. Use the relevant configuration page to make changes; a suggested change in a conversation is not a saved setting.

## Start a conversation

1. Select the workspace and agent you want to inspect.
2. Open Backstage and start a new chat.
3. Ask a specific question, naming the time period or setting when relevant.
4. Read the response and use follow-up questions to clarify the result.
5. Open History to return to an earlier Backstage chat.

## Useful questions

- Which model and instructions does this agent use?
- Summarize the current usage information available for this workspace.
- What authoring drafts are available for this agent?
- Explain the configuration I should review before changing an action.

## Access and availability

Backstage follows your workspace permissions. If a session is unavailable, verify the selected agent and workspace, then start a new chat or reopen an accessible entry from History. Do not interpret an unavailable-data message as a zero usage result.
